Hi

I am trying to set up a custom email domain within apple icloud for a sub domain of

test.bottger.co.uk

Apple tell me I have to create the following but struggling to see how in the portal on my basic account

DKIM:
Type CNAME
Host sig1._domainkey
Value sig1.dkim.test.bottger.co.uk.at.icloudmailadmin.com.

Any advice appreciated

(I will do this on the main domain once i have proved that it work across multiple shared family accounts)

Thanks

Neil

Hi Sandy

Thanks for responding so quickly

What I get when I test my custom domain settings with Apple is

Check your DKIM record

Make sure the settings that you updated on your domain registrar match the ones sent to you. If you just updated the information, try this again later. It can take up to 72 hours for your changes to take effect.

Not really sure what it is expecting to be honest, seems strange though that the answer section above doesnt have test in the first section i.e.
sig1._domainkey.bottger.co.uk.
instead of
sig1._domainkey.test.bottger.co.uk.

What do you think?

Thanks

for the first section:

dig @ns18.zoneedit.com cname sig1._domainkey.bottger.co.uk thats the host you created: sig1._domainkey

the answer section shows the addres its pintinng to: sig1.dkim.test.bottger.co.uk.at.icloudmailadmin.com.

if the host needs to be sig1._domainkey.test.bottger.co.uk. then you would need to enter it on the zone file as sig1._domainkey.test

I would suggest using the Cname options on the basic zone file editor....

the host would be sig1._domainkey.test

the address would be sig1.dkim.test.bottger.co.uk.at.icloudmailadmin.com.

regards.
