Using ZoneEdit free domains as secondary

I signed up for ZoneEdit to be the secondary some years ago for a couple of personal hobby domains, and those show as "Secondary DNS" when I click on the "Domain Details". I have the master server here. A couple questions:

- Should I use dns1 and dns2.zoneedit.com in my domain record?
- I have a new domain to add but I can't seem to find where to change it from Primary to Secondary.

You can use dns1 and dns2 as your secondaries.

Under the "DNS Settings" tab there should be an option where you set "Primary NS", if it's not showing IM me your domain and I'll take a look.

Ok, thanks, I'll try it and post back. It also seems I need to allow both TCP and UDP on port 53 on the firewall.

Yes - you absolutely need to open both TCP and UDP - this is because even tho DNS happens over UDP (mostly), the SOA preamble and zone transfers happen over TCP. (I cover this in my forthcoming book

Ok, firewall open so my other domains all work as intended. Will drop you a PM, I'm clearly not finding the right button.
