Subdomain with its own MX settings

I setup a subdomain about 12 months ago and it had its own MX settings which have worked fine. I have recently had to relocate the mail service associated with the domain and subdomain but I can't find the settings to change the subdomain.

Domain : domain.com
A record : mail.domain.com
MX : mail.domain.com

Domain : subdomain.domain.com
A record : mail.subdomain.domain.com
MX : mail.subdomain.domain.com

What do I need to do to change the A record for mail.subdomain.domain.com ? I have looked at the "ANAME" work around but I can't tell if is done correctly or not. ALl the nslookups I have done against zoneedit and google servers (after 2 hours) are still showing the old address.

on the MX records are the mail for zone would be family.newbiginit.com
and the mail server would be mail.family.newbiginit.com... if I am understanding the properly.

I see you have created nameserver records for family.newbiginit.com Did you want family.newbiginit.com to be its own stand alone zone file?

When I initially set it up, it was configured through ZoneEdit as its own zone.

I would like to be able to edit it as its own zone.
