Setup new DNS, but is it owned by someone else?

Hello,

I setup l33tness.com as my DNS. The system didn't complain about it being owned by someone else, so I assume it was available. This may be an incorrect assumption as it's resolving to a different IP (dig via 4.2.2.2 verifies).

How do I determine if this is available or not? Checking godaddy.com says it's not, but is that because I have requested it or it was prior to me signing up on zoneedit..

Can I change it now? I can't find a way to delete it and create another (Free) DNS entry...like l33tness.net or something.

Thank you!

hi there

the domain already exists:

Domain Name: L33TNESS.COM
Registrar: MELBOURNE IT, LTD. D/B/A INTERNET NAMES WORLDWIDE
Sponsoring Registrar IANA ID: 13
Whois Server: whois.melbourneit.com
Referral URL: http://www.melbourneit.com
Name Server: NS1.ECHIDNA.ARVIXE.COM
Name Server: NS2.ECHIDNA.ARVIXE.COM
Status: ok http://www.icann.org/epp#OK
Updated Date: 09-nov-2015
Creation Date: 12-jun-2005
Expiration Date: 12-jul-2017

anyone can add any domain name for DNS services.... if you do not have access to the domain name at its registrar then you would not be able to delegate zoneedits nameservers

There is Delete link on the domains Domain Settings tab

thanks
