I'd like to use zoneedit.com dynamic DNS updates in the following way:
I don't have a paid for domain name. I'm happy to create a new hostname with an existing zoneedit.com domain, such as ABCremote.zoneedit.com for example. As I say, I don't currently have a domain name but this is not what I'm after, I'm just trying to use zoneeedit to update a hostname that I create and I'll use this hostname to VPN back to my home which has a dynamic IP address. I've looked at the videos of adding domain names and then adding dynamic IP's to that domain name - it makes sense if I have a domain and then I'd delegate the DNS services to zoneedit.com but I don't have a domain and don't want one, I just need a single hostname 'tacked on' to an existing domain name like dtdns.net offers....
So I'm just after a dynamic hostname here (without my own domain name).
dtdns.net was working well for me until my old router got struck by a power surge and the new one doesn't support Dynamic DNS for dtdns.net so I'm looking in the list of dynamic DNS supported companies.
How would I achieve this?
