Please let me know your domain name and the mailmap that is not working.
gday zesupport,
thanks for your reply.
domain is foxquote.com.au's mail redirection.
i went in and re-applied existing settings.
..now it's (ie. first of 2 redirections (ie. bruce@)) working ok....
..but the second (ie. admin@) redirecrion still isnt working...
any ideas?

gee sandy thanks so much.....heeps of emails came through....you're a marvel!

may I pls ask, how did you discovered this, and how I can prevent them from doing it again?

...or did you somehow drag them out of my 'spam\junk' folder and to my bigpond inbox?

bruce.

gday sandy,

I've been testing it (again) this morning.

it stills seems a bit flakey, sometimes
my admin@ works, then next test it doesn't...?

is there anything I can do...like...er...ring bigpond...cringe....

also, when you say 'throttling' what exactly do you mean?

thanks again.

it means that Bigpond may have thought they were seeing quite a bit of spam being sent from zoneedit's mail servers...

or other fraudulent email activity .. when this they can totally stop allowing mail from the affected servers to pass through, or to throttle that server. so instead of allowing message to pass through as they are received.,,
throttled servers would allow. say only 100 messages pr hour instead of all the message sent that hour.

it was discovered by looking at the time stamps on mail logs. when they leftour servers.. and when the receiving mail server released them for delivery

beautifully explained sandy - thankyou so much.

may i ask HOW i can prevent this from happening again?
it was actually beginning to hurt me a bit.

do i need to write a letter of complaint to bigpond to stop them doing this?

bruce.

there is nothing you can do personally.... we have many subscribers tat also point to Bigpond for email forwarding...

thanks for the info sandy.

1) can i do whatever you did to reinstate my email forwarding should it happen again?
2) is there any way i can prevent it from ever happening again?
3) is it happening because i'm a 'free/legacy' zoneedit user and therefore get (understandably) lower priority/service?

hi aga9nb
1. no.. this is only something we can do from our side.
2. no this generally occurs when a rogue domain name sends out tons of spam from our servers.
3. no same answer as 2. applies here.

thanks
