I have moved and switched Cable providers .. I was on line with a Fixed IP which I have had for years.
My current provider does not offer fixed IP.
I tried setting up the DYN setup but I can't get it to work.
I am not a guru on whats required, I have tried almost everything in the setup screens and nothing works.
HELP
 
hi there what is the domain name and can you send in a screen shot or two of your set up configuration on the dynamic device you are using.
 
I do see DNS host records in the zone file... or did you ad them manually? regards please send screen shots of the linksys DDNS config.

Here are the basic parameters you will need:


  • Server address (http://api.cp.zoneedit.com OR dynamic.zoneedit.com)
  • Host name (your domain name) you have added incorrectly
  • User name (your ZoneEdit username) you have added incorrectly
  • Password (this should be your dynamic token mentioned earlier)

I take it that these setting are for the router?
 
thats correct. I would suggest updating the host sqwhirrel.com
and enabling wildcard updates ion your zoneedit zone file only use DDNS for @ for the root domain and * for wildcards.

After a long talk with LinkSys/ I have come to the conclusion that their Router will not work according to their Tech Support.(and their team).and they don't have one that will work with your site. SO after some research I decided to go with an ASUS Router which looks like their application is all setup to work with ZoneEdit. Ordered it/On the Way will try again when it arrives. Thanks for the help. I'm sure I'll probably need it again.
 
I am making progress! but still not finished. Set up new ROUTER"ASUS".
I can get domain exhaustprosperformance.com when I request it.
This domain is a sub domain of sqwhirrel.com. But I can;t get
sqwhirrel.com when I request it. ...?
It appears that everything is in place.
Can you check it out and let me know where I am going wrong.

Based on the settings you provided in that screenshot (which I've removed). The username is wrong (your Zoneedit username is not your email address), and please do not share your DYN Auth Token. If you haven't already, please cycle the DYN AUTH Token.

Additionally, I'm unsure which page you're viewing to see your domains. You'll have to provide a screenshot or be very descriptive of where you're going /looking.
 
Thank you for the response, and location of the misspelled name.
I had a choice Email or user name guess I picked the wrong on. Adjusted.
Currently I have site "exhaustprosperformance.com" responding, The site sqwhirrel.com is not being found.....

I'm not familiar with that software, but I can confirm the domain sqwhirrel.com is there and in the same account. I've checked the dyn logs and I'm not seeing any requests hitting our dynamic update server for the sqwhirrel.com domain.
 
Thanks I will check on my end, Both sites are on the same server with Sqwhirrel being the Main Site and Exhaustprosperformance being the virtual site. Yet I can get the virtual site but not the main site.
Will let you know if I succeed.
