Transfer another user's domain

My name is Andres Diaz, new technician for the studioyerfino.com.ar domain. This domain was managed by another technician who unfortunately passed away, but I need to continue working with that domain for my client.
How should I process this procedure? Do you need documentation from the domain owner? Because they can't manage the domain's emails.
