Promote this server

I am about to promote the server to a domain controller. Without a registered domain through zoneedit, would I be able to apply our own domain and use your DNS products? Or will I need to obtain a domain through zoneedit?

ADDENDUM:

Also, would you be able to give me an idea on where your services host from, region wise, as latency and performance is crucial to our business model. Are your services strategically located around the United States, and if so, where are your primary servers located? Also, do you provide redundant fail-over?

Hi there

Zoneedit does not need to be the domain names registrar to provide DNS services to it.

Our nameserver locations are as followed:

ns18.zoneedit.com - Miami
ns14.zoneedit.com - Miami
ns9.zoneedit.com - Miami
ns5.zoneedit.com - Miami
dns1.zoneedit.com - Miami
ns11.zoneedit.com - Zurich
ns13.zoneedit.com - Zurich
dns4.zoneedit.com - Zurich
ns8.zoneedit.com - Zurich
ns17.zoneedit.com - Zurich
ns15.zoneedit.com - San Jose
dns2.zoneedit.com - San Jose
ns10.zoneedit.com - San Jose
ns19.zoneedit.com - San Jose

dns3.zoneedit.com - NYC
ns7.zoneedit.com - NYC
ns12.zoneedit.com - NYC
ns16.zoneedit.com - NYC

Basic DNS service allows two nameservers to be delegated to a domain name and you can add tertiary DNS services to a domain as an add on feature.

for failover, do you mean on our nameservers or as a DNS feature.. failover DNS and host monitoring?

Either way, the answer is yes.

thanks
sandy
