Can anybody tell me what webfwd1.zoneedit.com is? My MX Exchangers are pointed there even though I dont have this configured anywhere in CPANEL. Any thoughts on how to change this?

hi there.

what is the domain name of concern?
zone file records are created on your zoneedit interface, not within a Cpanel environment

thanks

Ok... you are seeing webfwd1.zoneedit.com. because you have a stealth URL forward for mail.meyernet.net and as such that host goes through our web forwarding server.
so the mx would look like:

host -t mx meyernet.net
meyernet.net mail is handled by 0 mail.meyernet.net.

but a lookup directly on that server would be:

dig mail.meyernet.net

; <<>> DiG 9.8.3-P1 <<>> mail.meyernet.net
;; global options: +cmd
;; Got answer:
;; ->>HEADER<<- opcode: QUERY, status: NOERROR, id: 58603
;; flags: qr rd ra; QUERY: 1, ANSWER: 3, AUTHORITY: 6, ADDITIONAL: 11

;; QUESTION SECTION:
;mail.meyernet.net. IN A

;; ANSWER SECTION:
mail.meyernet.net. 300 IN CNAME webfwd1.zoneedit.com.
webfwd1.zoneedit.com. 300 IN A 198.199.92.59
webfwd1.zoneedit.com. 300 IN A 162.243.226.87

thanks

Thanks!

Its weird because I have another domain, soarways.com, setup the same way and it point to my mail server IP.

hi Erik

for soarways.com the MX record points to the server host name soarways.com which is a DYN record, not a Stealth forward...
this would have different lookup results on our nameservers.

thanks
