I'm trying to forward emails from my domain (nocturnis.ca) to a Gmail address an a Outlook address.
I do not get any error when sending an email my fowarded addressed . But the email won't go trough.

I verify the my domain is using the Zoneedit DNS server usin the CIRCA whois function and I'm using: dns1.zoneedit.com & dns2.zoneedit.com.

I configure Zoneedit following a video from you site (
)
My MX Record is:
MAIL FOR ZONE: @ (for .nocturnis.ca)
MAIL SERVER: LOCAL
PREF 0
TTL is empty

My mailmaps contain:
MAIMAP: XXXXX (@.nocturnis.ca) => XXXXXX@gmaill.com
MAIMAP: yyyyy (@.nocturnis.ca) => yyyyy@gmaill.com
MAIMAP: zzzzz (@.nocturnis.ca) => zzzzz@outlook.com

I seacrh you forum and the web and I dif not find what is mssing.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance

Hello MarcelEric,

You're not doing anything wrong. The only advice I can give is specifically for the Gmail destination addresses. If you send a test message from the Gmail address to the Mailmap where the Gmail address is forwarded back to, it will never arrive. Gmail does not allow the delivery of that loop. I don't think Outlook has the same restriction.

So, test by sending an email from your @gmail.com address to the mailmap, which fowards to your Outlook destination address. Then, send an email from your @outlook.com address to the mailmaps that forward to the @gmail.com destination. Those tests should work.

OR, if you have any other email addresses you can test from which aren't based on the mailmap destination addresses, those should work.

I use another Gmail account to send email to my Gmail destination and my Outlook destination.

I receive the outlook email but it was handled as a spam, and I can deal with that.

All email sent to different addresses that point to the same Gmail destinationwere receive and it were handle as spam, and I can deal with that.

All also test sending to an non-existing address of my domain abc@nocturnis.ca. I did expect it to go anywhere. What surprise me is that so fa I did get an error from Gmail saying it could not send the email has it normally does.

So I am satisfied has ever with Zonedit. But the invalid address behavior puzzle me.

Sending an email to a non-existent address based on your domain should result in a non-delivery bounce message.
