CNAME Records appending domain name

I have been trying to add a new CNAME record for a subdomain (support.dynamixconsulting.co.uk) so that it redirects to a helpdesk provider, however they continually refused to verify the sub-domain. I had thought this was their problem, but when I check my DNS records using MXTools it reports a CNAME records that has the domain name appended i.e. <actual redirect address>.<my domain name>.

Is this a setting that I need to change ??

Hi there

For Cnames you need to add a . at the end of the target URL.. if a . is not added then the domain name would be appended to that target URL.
