Hello everyone

please help me if you can.

HOST = *.thefurnituremarket.co.uk
TEXT = v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com ~all

I am trying to configure this TXT file to add verification of our emails that google is authorised to send them on our behalf.

Hello Rob.

It looks like you have the correct SPF record there, plus an additional IP address which shouldn't be a problem.

You are using a wildcard for your TXT record tho, so it will only work with subdomains, unless that is intentional.
If you'd like the record to work with ALL records, replace the * with a @ in the 'HOST' section of the TXT record.

Hey Thanks for your reply.

Think we need to change the * for an @ though. Thanks.

I have applied this to a TXT file within ZE over 8 hours ago but various tests I run keep telling me the SPF is still Neutral. And a certain email provider is still refusing emails from us.

is this normal? I would have thought I would be getting a different result by now If it were.

Also our hosting provider advised us that even though we use Google for our email that we should insert our IP address in this string

"v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com ~all " which is what I have done.

My gut feeling is telling me we haven't solved this problem yet.

The reason it wouldn't be verifying is because your SPF record is expecting something.thefurnituremarket.co.uk and not just thefurnituremarket.co.uk.

Would you like me to change that record for you?

that link is for google verification records, not for SPF...

the spf record in the zone file is valid at present...

where are you seeing SPF check: permerror ?
