Dear support team
Can you please explain the meaning of the parameter "zones"?
Obviously it works the same way as the parameter "host". But I have also found out that if you use both parameters, obviously only "zones" will be parsed, while "host" will be ignored. E.g.
https://dynamic.zoneedit.com/auth/dynamic.html?zones=yourdomain.com&host=yourdomain.com, sub1.yourdomain.com,sub2.yourdomain.com&dnsto=ip
will only update yourdomain.com but not the subdomains while
https://dynamic.zoneedit.com/auth/dynamic.html?zone=yourdomain.com, sub1.yourdomain.com,sub2.yourdomain.com&host=yourdomain.com&dnsto=ip
does update also the subdomains.
So, which parameter shall be used, "zones" or "host". Which ones is more future-proof?
In addition, I actually thought that in the past the parameter "zones" updated all hosts of the given zone. E.g.
https://dynamic.zoneedit.com/auth/dynamic.html?zone=yourdomain.com&dnsto=ip
would have updated also all the subdomains (=hosts) of the domain (=zone) yourdomain.com.
Will you probably reinstated this behavior?
Kind regards
Tensai
