Subdomain mailmap receiving Relay access denied error

I've set up a mailmap for a subdomain email address under my primary domain and an associated MX record for the subdomain which points to LOCAL. However, when I send a test email I receive the error:

mailfwd2.zoneedit.com
Remote Server returned '<mailfwd2.zoneedit.com #5.7.1 smtp;554 5.7.1 <user@subdomain.domain.com>: Relay access denied>'

I have added an TXT record "v=spf1 mx include:mx-caprica.zoneedit.com -all ".

Is there anything else I need to configure to get the mail forward to work?

Thanks Sandy. I've also just set up a web forward for my root and www domain, however it doesn't seem to be working.

Any further progress on resolving this issue? Just tried to send a test email and it is still bouncing back with the relay access denied error.

I am very sorry for the inconvenience. This was my error. i was under the impression tat sub domain mailmaps was an available feature.
This was not correct. mail forwarding will only work for the parent domain.

Again, my apologies for not knowing this earlier.

We hope to add the feature but we have no ETA at present.

thanks

Hello,

I am having the same problem. Is this feature still unavailable? It would be unexpected if it isn't because the mailmap for the subdomain only appears as an option after I add a MX record for the subdomain.

Workflow:

* Mailmap unavailable for subdomain in the ZoneEdit interface

1) Added MX record for the subdomain

* Mailmap now available for the subdomain

2) Added catch-all and specific mailmap for testing purposes that point to a Gmail account

* Sender account receives email:

<snip>

Final-Recipient: rfc822; foo@subdomain.domain.com
Action: failed
Status: 5.7.1
Remote-MTA: dns; mx-caprica.zoneedit.com. (166.88.18.34, the server for the
domain subdomain.domain.com.)
Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 554 5.7.1 <foo@subdomain.domain.com>: Relay access denied
Last-Attempt-Date: Mon, 20 Feb 2017 13:42:35 -0800 (PST)

</snip>

I am sorry mail maps for sub domains are still not supported.. we will soon be working on a clean up that will not allow mail maps to be created for sub domains.
