set up dynamic DNS for my own domain

Hi,
I've added for my own domain the dynamic record:
HOST TTL CURRENT IP ADDRESS
xxx.xxx 300 sec xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
and set up the js client, the status is "on" but I get no response e it doesn't work
I guess I have to set up my domain provider dns to point to zoneedit nameservers, right? which records have I to set up ?

hi there what is the domain name of concern? and yes zoneedit nameservers must be delegated at the domains registrar to use our DNS services... as for what records do you need to set up? what is your goal in using the service?

I need to host a site on a server with dynamic public ip address
So I have to change the NS dns records of the domain provider from ovh to zoneedit right?

yes the domain would need to be delegated to :
dns1.zoneedit.com
dns2.zoneedit.com
and you will want to ad all zone records you need ... including MX etc...

the current IP that is there presently.. did you add that manually?

Ok but on that provider I have emails too, so I can't change MX records...
and yes I add it that manually

on your zoneedit zone file at the current providet I see:

I would strongly suggest you contact the folks at ovh.com to make sure they will allow you to delegate their mailserver information while using another DNS service provider. they may only provide email services if their nameservers are delegated to the domain name.

if you can get the current dns provider to allow you to set NS records for WWW the set them to
dns1.zoneedit.com
dns2.zoneedit.com

and let me know when complete. I can then change the domain in your account to be the www version and remove the root domain

but instead of registrering another domain, is it possible to use a zoneedit domain such as silmafer.zoneedit.com or zoneedit.com/silmafer ?

sorry zoneedit does not offer host records on zoneedit.com to use. You hve tohave your own domain name to use any zoneedit service
