This domain was modified at your registrar on April 1st:

Domain Name: VEEN-TEMARVELDE.NET
Registrar: MELBOURNE IT, LTD. D/B/A INTERNET NAMES WORLDWIDE
Sponsoring Registrar IANA ID: 13
Whois Server: whois.melbourneit.com
Referral URL: http://www.melbourneit.com
Name Server: DNS21.NAME-SERVICES.COM
Name Server: DNS22.NAME-SERVICES.COM
Status: clientDeleteProhibited http://www.icann.org/epp#clientDeleteProhibited
Status: clientTransferProhibited http://www.icann.org/epp#clientTransferProhibited
Updated Date: 01-apr-2015
Creation Date: 29-mar-2001
Expiration Date: 29-mar-2016

It is not using zoneedit nameservers, and it's MX record is not pointing at zoneedit:

Marks-MacBook-Pro:tmp markjeftovic1$ host -t mx veen-temarvelde.net
veen-temarvelde.net is an alias for melbourneit.hotkeysparking.com.
melbourneit.hotkeysparking.com mail is handled by 10 p.nsm.ctmail.com.

It looks like your domain expired on March 29 and is now parked. Perhaps you forgot to renew it with your registrar?

I can see from the logs that prior to that we were delivering email to you just fine.

In your post it says the expiration is march 29th 2016, which is a year from now, not this year! Could you please look into my problem again? ( or please explain if i'm missing a point here)

There is another issue: This morning we requested a password reset, but the new password was sent to mail@veen- temarvelde.net, which of course never reached us, because of the problem stated above. Could you please send te new password to our ' real' email address?
Thanks in advance!

The expiry date in the whois record being 2016 is misleading, that's because the registry "auto-renews" the domain on it's anniversary date and charges the registrar for the renewal, the registrar then tries to collect from the registrant, if they don't they put the domain into an expired state, and then park the domain. (It's confusing, but I cover this in my forthcoming book in the "Understanding the Expiry Cycle" section)

The issue is that your domain has expired with your registrar and they have parked your domain.

This can clearly be seen when you look at the .net root servers for your domain:

Marks-MacBook-Pro:tmp markjeftovic1$ dig +trace VEEN-TEMARVELDE.NET
[snip]
;; Received 506 bytes from 192.36.148.17#53(i.root-servers.net) in 1855 ms

VEEN-TEMARVELDE.NET. 172800 IN NS dns21.name-services.com.
VEEN-TEMARVELDE.NET. 172800 IN NS dns22.name-services.com.
;; Received 126 bytes from 192.31.80.30#53(d.gtld-servers.NET) in 359 ms

VEEN-TEMARVELDE.NET. 900 IN CNAME melbourneit.hotkeysparking.com.
melbourneit.hotkeysparking.com. 900 IN CNAME melbourneit.hotkeysparking.com.
;; Received 95 bytes from 69.64.155.247#53(dns21.name-services.com) in 115 ms

You should see zoneedit nameservers there, but you see the parking service ones instead.

Ok. Thanks for the explenation. We will refer to the registrar. Strange they do not send out expiration warnings.

This just leaves the other issue: could you please send a new password to our real email adress, so we can edit our zones again, since the domainname is expored for the moment? ( see previous posts).
