Hostname and domain name

Recently, i just sign up with zonedit for the dynamic ip update. I have entered my domain name (example.com). my question is can i use the same domain name for the host name because when i want to add the hostname, zoneedit required something before it (something.example.com) and i just want the same domain name with the hostname which is (example.com). im new the zonedit and i hope you guys can help me with this.

hi there use the @ sign to denote the root domain of domain,com as example.
