I seem to be having a similar issue, meeksnet.ca.
I have a catch all defined forwarding to my gmail address, and its been working since i originally purchased the domain and setup the forwarder over 10 years ago. Im not sure when it started happening, i just noticed it with a new email i created for a website that i never received the "verification" email on it. I manually created the email forwarder and resent the verification a 5th time and it finally came through, supporting that the catch all is not working any longer.
This is not a supportable workaround for me (creating the email forwarder). As i mentioned, its been over 10 years of me randomly creating email addresses based on every company i have dealt with for that time period
