Mail forwarding to GMX.de (or .ch, .net) and WEB.de

Hi Community

I have never experienced any problems with mailmaps in zoneedit within the something around 6 years I am using it now. Unfortunately, one German Mail-Service (WEB.de and GMX.de seem to be owned by the same company) doesn't accept Mail Forwards from zoneedit anymore. Here's what users get back, wenn they try to use "example@ruesssuuger.ch". Can you help me with any suggestions on how to get this solved? Thank you in advance.

best regards
Michael

Hi Michael

There is a fairly detailed article on the technical background here: https://www.heinlein-support.de/blog/news/gmx-de-und-web-de-haben-mail-rejects-durch-spf/

TL;DR: If the original message (the one the user sends to the mail address you have set up on zoneedit to redirected) originates at web.de/gmx.de and is being redirected to another web.de/gmx.de mailbox, the web.de/gmx.de mailserver will recognise that the zoneedit mail servers are not authorised to deliver mail from web.de/gmx.de (as per the web.de/gmx.de SPF record) and reject with the above error message.
